This footage was filmed in a nature park in the north of Spain. It is the setting for a Squiver workshop focused on improving your wildlife photography skills. It offers you a unique opportunity to photograph over a hundred different animal species from five continents in semi-wild conditions, and in truly exceptional surroundings.

Likely subjects: the biggest herd of elephants outside Africa, hippo, tiger, lion, zebra, lynx, ostrich, brown bear, giraffe, eland, wolf, waterbock, deer, bison, white rhino, various birds of prey, watusi, wildebeest, buffalo and gorilla.

Improve your wildlife photography and camera skills on this exciting workshop in beautiful Spain. We will take you to the largest zoological park in the world, where well be able to photograph more than a hundred different animal species from the five continents. The animals live in semi-wild conditions in large open areas made up of unusual limestone rock formations produced by erosion. Rusting iron minerals have painted the rocks in a wide variety of colours. This gives us the opportunity to photograph the animals with unique natural backgrounds. The quality of life enjoyed by the animals allows them to reproduce easily here, so expect to see young ones!

The Rain Forest

This short film was produced to test and showcase D-SLR video being applied in a macro scenario. It was shot over 2 sessions both in the First Light studio and a nearby tropical greenhouse for GV’s and context.

Equipment used was a Canon 1D MkIV fitted with MPE65, 100/2.8 and 70-200/2.8 lenses. The camera was supported on a Gitzo 5 series tripod and heavy video head.

A quick edit was achieved using supplied i-movies 9 on an i-Mac. Wild Track was added in post and mixed with ambient sound recorded with a Sennheiser MKE400 fitted to the camera.

I would like to thank Canon UK and Jigsaw24.com for equipment support and Alex at The Living Rainforest for access to some fabulous plants.

A compilation of all my videos and timelapeses I had done over the last year or so. All shot in New Zealand, and mainly places around Queenstown and Wellington.

This was filmed using a Canon 5D Mark III and with the lenses 100mm f2.8 L Macro, 16-35mm f2.8 L, Tokina 11-16mm. All the timelapeses were shot as RAW images and the videos were also shot in RAW using the Magic Lantern firmware and scaled up to 4K.

Meanwhile in a world far, far away …
This is a short film created during the “Porgrave” shooting, the latest film by Sandro Bocci, that will be released in late 2015. …Meanwhile… shows the world of marine animals like corals and starfish at high magnification and during long time span through the timelapse. The music almost alien and disturbing has been joined to the images that stimulate mental associations to create a contrast, stimulate synesthesia and feelings do not necessarily harmonics and assonant.
This is an infinitesimal part of the wonderful world in which we live and of which we should take better care. A trip through a different perspective that would encourage reflection on the consequences of our actions on each scale of space and time.

…Meanwhile… è un cortometraggio sperimentale che mostra il mondo di alcuni animali marini tropicali come coralli e stelle marine ad alto ingrandimento ed attraverso lassi di tempo condensati. Il cortometraggio vorrebbe stimolare una riflessione sulle conseguenze delle nostre azioni su altre scale spazio-temporali mostrando le meraviglie nascoste e spesso impercettibili ad occhio nudo attraverso l’utilizzo di tecniche come il timelapse ed alti ingrandimenti ottici. La musica quasi aliena e disturbante è stata affiancata alle immagini che stimolano associazioni mentali per creare un contrasto, stimolare sinestesie e sensazioni non necessariamente armoniche ed assonanti.
